never get personal

with 2 comments

The smoky air was making me nauseate. I was gasping for air while desperately finding seats in a crowded sea of clutter. Chomp chomp was not a place that made me feel at home. I noticed that every seat was being eyed upon by many like a carcass to vultures. Somehow it made me think of life. I noticed myself sitting down in a corner eyeing on three different tables. I like keeping my options open. Not committing to one.

Every table was like a relationship to me. When the group of people or couple are finishing their meal, you’d see a couple of vultures standing by close to that table. Its like when a couple’s relationship is on the rocks and about to end, you’d see a few vultures just standing by to take the kill. Some seats were more special than others. Arguments or fights could erupt between these vultures over who would be deserving of the table.

I felt somehow alone. That was when ernie came. She was like wingman. A partner. A confidant. We staked out at a table together and finally got a seat after 45 bloody mary minutes!

I learned a valuable lesson from this. Never get personal. Never get too attached. When staking out a table, leave your options open because you’ll be disappointed when that table gets taken by another other than yourself. Someone told me, I’m a better friend than a boyfriend. I guess that’s true. A lot of my friends tell me that i’m a great guy to be with. Described as fun and charismatic. Moral of the story is that, why go to chomp chomp and be in the rat race when you can be at starbucks and enjoy the music of life.

Never get personal.

between girlfriends & flings

with 13 comments

Misty and cold it was last night. The road lamps lighted like hazy stars in a blurry night. Such are my feelings for the upcoming month. The leadership camp for HCI was awesome! Simply great! Hwa Chong JC is simply top notch! They simply could handle everything on their own. I really had a blast with them. Awesome bunch of teens. I have a feeling that they’ll go very far in life. None complained, none gave up. All persevered and came out on top. Athena fac, you rock!

During this period I realised something. Whats with guys wanting to have a girlfriend. I was really happy without one during the camp. I saw that with a girlfriend, you had to constantly make yourself vulnerable to attacks and hurt. I was so glad that I am single. Adding girls into the equation would almost for certain complicate every single level of attained nirvana. Flings are so much more fun. No strings attached and no commitment. Awesome stuff!

Never do anything for girls, they’re only almost for sure making use of you. Instead do things for yourself. You’ll end up happier. Oh yes, back to the money issue, oh wells, i haven’t came up with a solution yet. Maybe in 10years time.

money is love

with 2 comments

Earlier in the day i was discussing with andi about marriage. She brought up the scary statistics of the increase in marriage among young couples. She highlighted that she would only get married when she has a career, money and education.

as stated by her

no education, no career, no money = no talk

I for one question the institutional foundation of a job. Why do i even need one? All i need is money. And if education = job = money = life, then why not skip the whole entire process and concentrate on life? Jobs were created based on trade barter. Experts in their own field or someone who possess something exchanges services or goods. Then there was currency. I dun want a job. I want a life. It might be silly, maybe even immature by some to not want to have a job. But thats me. Why would i want to waste 8hrs of my life everyday doing something that would earn me some measly amount of money that i have to save and not even have the liberty to spend at my own free will without worrying about the consequences that lies ahead.

Lets find some way to possess money with ease. Lets brainstorm. Come on people, problem solving skills!
We’ll come to a conclusion when i get back from M’sia.

the next girl story

leave a comment »

A great adventure awaits me at Kulai with Hwa Chong JC this coming week. I am really looking forward to it. 4Days of nothing but nature and fun! I told Odi about it and she was like, “Why do i have a strong feeling that you’re coming home with another girl story”.

Lol, well Odi, i dunno, maybe, maybe not. The school is too chinesy for my taste. So we’ll have to see. AHAH! The past few days have been filled with lots of emotional surprises. I came back from a camp learning something from a 14 yr old boy. Everyday I wrote reflections on a spare camp booklet i kept for myself.

An extract from it.

I was sitting down facing the sea alone at 2345 when wrote this.

The crisp salty breeze blowing across my face. I am reminded of the reason why I became an instructor in the first place. It is to educate, to motivate and to advocate. What gives me the right to teach what I do not know. I know not about life nor its mysteries. Not even close to comprehending it. Confused and stumbling at every turn. I believe I am incompetent.

Today I was inspired, neigh, influenced by a secondary 2 whitley sec boy. He was quite the gentleman in speech and in action. I questioned my own character. Am I even half the gentleman that he is? Gleaming with poise and finesse.

AWESOME.

That seems to be the word that’s wagging off my group’s tongues. It was catchy and interesting. Almost irritating. It was the new IT.

Well, before my camp ended, I received a heart breaking piece of news. My grandma just passed away. It was a sad day. She left us on her 77th birthday. Her death day was her birthday. How coincidental can that be. However, her death brought the whole family together. With my aunt complaining about the lack of professionalism of the new Camp HA ‘instructors’ to my other aunt asking me to treat them to dinner coz they heard that i’m working now and hiring people to work for me. It was a day that was mixed with feelings. Met Sarah at simpang afterwards. She made me smile. So kudos to her.

I’m still waiting for AZMI to send me the camp photos!
Oh yeah, i spent another sum of money on OAKLEYS!
Bought it with Azmi. He preferred the black one coz it looks more solid.
I bought a translucent brown one instead with burnt brown lenses.
At least now he wun complain about me wearing my raybans to camp.

Oh yeah, supper with grace at simpang 2 days ago was fun too!
She laughed till she cried!
AHhaha all thanks to my spastic DUH face!
AHahha!
Supper is always fun with grace.

Oh wells, can’t wait for camp.
See you guys again on thursday.
Which reminds me, gah, when i come back from camp, i have Cheryl Lio’s party to attend at night and the next day, a performance at TPJC. Was invited by some girls there. AWESOME! Ahah! This should be fun.

Beauty in Words

with 6 comments

There are two things that makes a girl ugly on first appearance. Smoking & Profanity. Nothing else grosses me out more than that. When i see a cute girl on the streets and out of a sudden she takes out a roll of paper filled with smelly nicotine, poisonous tar and a lot of other harmful stupid chemical used mainly to wash filthy floors, it just makes the girl look like the grinch.

Yes! that is how bad you look. The thing is that some of them think that it makes them look rather cool. Not cool dude. Not cool. Profanity is not a cool thing. Do you really think you sound cool when you suffix a four letter word in every sentence? Wow! You should take a tape recorder and record yourself man.

So ladies, please heed this advice. If you’re awesomely cute and intelligent, dun spoil your image by smoking and using profanity. Alrite? AWESOME!

Bimbos & Himbos

with one comment

When I was 17, i remember making fun of bimbotic cheerleaders who think that the world owes them a living. I remember laughing my ass off at girls whom when being asked what they wanna be when they grow up and they answer, ‘Oh, I wanna be a Cheerleader!’ Hello! Grow Up! Seriously!

There was this kid from a certain top school i took for kayaking. I was really irritated when he kept complaining about his oh so distress in the kayak when most of his friends could kayak properly. I wish I could just stuff the kayak up his gap. The most irritating sound in the world is the fugly noise of ‘academically blessed’ guys who complain. Gah! They really think they’re really all that.

Oh and dun get me start on bimbotic girls! Worst things that exists in the world.
Oh yeah.. going to aloha for a party soon! oh yeah! AWESOME!

Pillow Fight

with one comment

I woke up feeling tired as hell yesterday.
2 days of kayaking at JBAC really took a toll on me.
Ahah.. i’ve become weak!

Anyhoo!
Met up with ziza later in the afternoon.
She was shaking in her pants for the interview at lasalle.
LOL! Reminds me of my entry interview for lasalle.
AHh.. dumb memories.
Was in love with a girl who really loved me but i screwed things up.

After we left lasalle though, i had so much fun!
I bought ANOTHER top(yes i’ve been buying alot!) from G2000.
It seems like only that store has my cutting.
Lauren Ashley was next.
I SO LOVE THEIR WALLPAPER & FURNISHING!
Ah.. the feel of an antique chest of drawers.
Almost Orgasmic!

Lets thank those good people at IKEA for setting up an outlet in the very heart of Singapore.
TAMPINES!
or some might call it, MAT CENTRAL!
ahha sometimes its really filthy here.
Eating at Food Culture disgusts me.
Yucks.

I bought pillows at ikea!
Ahah.. Ziza says i’m like a small boy going to toy’r'us!
Oh yeah got alot of other stuff for my room too.
Gonna start working on it already.
Ziza’s like my room decorating consultant.

Ah yes, dun we look nice.
10pm at ikea.
Mighty tired but mighty fun!
And for the record, ziza, you suck at pushing the trolley!
ahahh! Oh yeah, and my room now smells of assorted dried flowers and strawberries.
Awesome!

Once my room is done, i will have like a mini open room for my closest friends! AWESOME!
Can’t wait!

Crap Reversal Theory

leave a comment »

It is human nature to want to please and be pleased.
Some however have this tendency of abusing this nature.
They take advantage of nice people and make use of them.
After sometime, a boy’s gotta learn how to say NO!
If someone treats you like crap, no matter how nice she was to you in the past, you just have to wake up and realise it.

Anyway, the week was really fun!
I just gotta say i’m really starting to appreciate my friends.
No matter what happens, they’re there for me.
Sometimes in hard times, you find out who’ll really be there for you.
Kayaking was somewhat of a disaster however.
I’ve become soft.
I realised that the only reason i’m such a perfectionist is because i hate it when things screw up.
This would happen when people change my plans and there’s too many cooks in the kitchen.
Lesson learnt.
But it was nevertheless, fun!

Can’t wait for the party this sat.
Its gonna be AWESOME!

The Merry Month of May

with one comment

They say nothing is as sweet as being loved back by someone you love.
How i wish this was true for me.
There are bigger problems in the world though.
No proper sanitation nor drinkable water supply in parts of South Africa.
It really makes my petty emotions seem so incredibly stupid.
I have everything i need at my fingertips.
I shouldn’t even complain.
As they say, money is the best thing you can have.

Today was kinda awesome!
Shopping at e Army Market and Vivo with ernie, zee and sarah.
Love my new Ray Bans.
Awesome!

Oh and my new fav brand.
TED BAKER!
AWESOME!
Love the threads and the decor!
Smashingly smashing!

Today’s meetup was to celebrate the joyous occasion of Azmi’s ORD date.
A plentiful dinner at newton circle.
Feels like a new clique is formed.
Love the chemistry.
Good stuff.
Food and great company.
Nothing beats that.

Exploration 1

with 4 comments

I’ve always wondered how great it is to be the first one to adventure into unchartered territories. Such is the fate of those robots on space exploration. Indeed they would be the first to see everything, but loneliness would also be shadowed onto them. It is a lucky thing that they have no emotions.

I seldom fall in love. Rarely. As my good friends would tell me, all i get are infatuations. A lot of it. Each time a new girl comes along that shows interest, I would be on my toes to please them. There’s something to this love thing that I can’t seem to understand till now. No matter how much research I find or theories I deduct, I am nowhere close to even unlocking the mystery to it. Or maybe I just don’t understand girls as much as I think I do.

I have 2 points that are on my mind today.
1. Toddler love.
2. Equality among the sexes.

I was sitting in the bus when a toddler turned and looked back from his seat and smiled at me. I was wondering why this little thing was doing that. He seemed so happy at everything. No sadness on his face. Nothing to worry about. I was so envious. He was chanting the ABC song to his mom and at the end of it, he held his mom’s face and kissed her. That was the sweetest gesture of love i’ve seen in years.

On a more serious note. I bring forth point 2. Equality among the sexes. This thought was triggered yet again when i saw the commercial on the arena where they were arguing on the motion of whether girls should serve NS. The rebuttal from one of the girls was ‘I DO NOT NEED TO DO A MAN’S JOB TO PROVE GENDER EQUALITY‘. Wow! That made me all ready to debate her.

First and foremost, all guys who disagree with whatever girls are saying or do are branded as Male Chauvinist Pigs or MCP. This term has been thrown around so lightly that it has lost its true meaning. When she says that NS is a man’s job, then, what IS a woman’s job? Making babies? Afterall that is what god intended them to do. No? It was highly idiotic for that girl from a renowned girls school to make a statement that NS is a man’s job. Look at Joan of Arc. Tell that to her. It is simply convenient to just push the blame to guys. Stop that. Its ugly. If you want gender equality, that live by your words. Not just by the jobs that you do, but by your lifestyle. I do not think I have to go into details. Lets hope gender equality will be a something that makes the world a better place rather than being a sham for girls to get their way even more.

Rewind Button

with one comment

Today was very much a day of self reflection.
Everytime i spend a day with odi, i just feel my age.
Which is 21 if you dun already know it.

She would always be reminiscing on yesteryears that have gone by.
Usually i would indulge in reminiscing with her,
but today was different.
I wasn’t much interested in the past anymore.
I was only looking forward to future.
I was just smiling to myself all night long.

She particularly asked me a question that reinforced this feeling.
If i cud rewind back to a time in the past to change something or experience it again,
which would it be?

My answer was none.
I’m glad that the part of my life which was determined by what grades i got for exams are long over.
That is without a doubt the worst part of my life.
Then i thought about lost love and I said.
No matter how much i try my best being less of a control freak or being nicer or whatever not,
it wouldn’t change a thing.
It doesn’t matter what i do or say.
If she doesn’t accept me for who I am, then why bother forcing myself to be upset to change?
Nothings gonna change even if i had a rewind button.

Then we had an emo period at long john’s.
OUH! ahah but Harold and Kumar was super awesome!
First one was funny, but this one, ahha.. wow!

Loved it!
Odi as usual made me seat in the 3rd row from the screen! 3RD FREAKING ROW! OMG LAH!
ahaha! and now she has to watch her language with me so instead of using the F word, she uses, milk.
Which sounds so wrong when she says it to me, coz she’ll go, MILK YOU FARHAN! aahaha sexay!
But ahha freaking funny show!

Oh! and odi has this unusual obsession for guys with facial hair. Can’t seem to understand it!
AHa.. ok her theory goes like this. If a guy is rated like 5/10, if he has a goatie, he’ll be like 10/10.
Like, uh…. ahahha.. and she says 70% of girls think that way. hmmm.. eh or is it 90%? ahaha
oh wells! ahah.. i’d rather be clean shaven then have hair on my chin anyday!
ahaha! ok wait.. is this true? goatie is hotstuff? girls, talk to me man. tell me this isn’t true!

Ahah.. but i love you odi. You know that rite. ahha!

Yes, and i got like 80bucks headphones today from yamaha.
Those they use in recording studios.
Its like super awesome!
I listen to the songs on my ipod in a new light now.
Super awesome!
I said that twice didn’t i?
Ahaha.. the bass.. like uh… orgasm….

Gah! ok.. new amp in my room. gotta clean my room soon.
Jamming time.
Oh and if sumone were to be so nice as to get me the eric clapton gadget from yamaha.
I’d love them to bits!

Got a brown leather one.
Loving it!
