Fiona Faces
I did this shoot when i first got my lights. aha.. Prolly one of my first with the beauty dish. Fiona, the model, was my bio/chem lab partner in sec school. She used to scratch me like a cat! ahaha! Bad cat! But ahha, can’t blame her, i used to irritate her alot! Anyway, the shoot was done at her house on a white wall as the background.

NARGIS SURVIVAL
This shoot was done quite sometime back when LEFOREPLAY was still a publication. Well, I learnt alot from this shoot. One being i’m DAMN BAD at make up and two being my radio trigger sucks ass!

SKII COMPETITION
A few months back there was this SKII competition for Lasalle and NAFA students. The thing is that they didn’t even announce the winner, or they did but maybe the school didn’t tell us. Lasalle being the best at wad its good at again, inefficient. Anyway, I got two models to model for this shoot for me. Teng and Mark. Here’s my entry.

Becks & Joy
I had actually been wanting to do a Manhattan Streets style kinda shoot for the longest time. I love the colour and smoke and what not. I just love New York. Anyway, I shot these sometime back. Becks and Joy. It was a fun shoot! We were outside the entrance of an underground carpark and whenever a vehicle exited, we had to move to one side and move back. Luckily i had Azmi there to warn me and hold the reflector yet again. Hehe.


Web Phenomenon
Its really a wonder how the internet has evolved bringing billions of people closer like never before. Its another wonder how some web applications/site can just get so incredibly popular that it billions of people use it all the time. MSN Messenger, Facebook, Friendster, MySpace. These are just a few goldmines for advertising possibilities. Fascinating it is really.
Facebook collates data on users when you post your favorite music and what not and this is helpful information to what kinda ads would appeal to you and thus making the ads more relevant than ever. 20years ago, the internet was just something no one really used, but my oh my how it grew. Everyone’s an expert now.
MSN Messenger. Another big phenomenon. It is the most popular instant messaging service to date. It started of humbly with just an instant messaging feature and evolved now with integrated games to video/audio conversations to handwritten text and alot more.
We of course create more friends and contacts with these applications. But have you asked yourself how many of these are real friends. Have you ever came across a situation whereby you say HI to a contact on the MSN Messenger application and the person just don’t reply you all the time. Their reason being that they were doing some work or another generic answer. Don’t believe everything you hear. With you behind the monitor screen and that person being far away, you would never know whats going on. Everybody lies. They probably just doesn’t want to talk to you. But hoho! When they need you, you’d notice that they are NEVER busy, NEVER away and NEVER will not reply you. The magic of i need you now, i have time for you. Once you’re done helping them, they’ll disappear faster than you can say INTERNET!
With these applications, it makes it a whole lot easier as there is no physical contact. You can give as many excuse as you want and it’ll seem quite believable. A breeding place for new age scams and ungrateful ‘friends’.
Everybody lies, no one really cares about what you have to say unless it helps them in a way. Friends are they only when they need you, till then, the keyword would be ‘no reply’.
LEFOREPLAY CHANGE
Yet again, LEFOREPLAY is going through another change in direction! I guess when you’re 20 and naive, you tend to change ideas like how you change underwears. Though, through this 6months of changes, I have learnt quite a sum of things. We met people who gave us priceless advices.
One of them made a huge impact on me.
He reminded me that every product/brand needs to have a unique selling point.
Money wants to be invested, Money HAS to be invested. Money goes to great ideas. Never care about the money, only great ideas. Never rush with a plan that is not really gonna work. Plan your whole way through. Quality and image of the product/brand is of utmost importance. It doesn’t matter if you dun make a profit at the beginning.
I learnt how communication can just breakdown if things are not made clear. Through my team and the public. Being clear in my direction is very important. Relaying my direction to the team is too. They stuck with me though I’ve made so many changes to the plan. They have worked hard. I’m really honored to have them with me.
Well, a new year is dawning. I lost my teeninity this month with a few close ones wishing me happy b’day. Happy 20th Farhan.
I’ll disclose the changes of LEFOREPLAY once we’ve finalised it. Its gonna be one exciting year coming ahead.
Post Its Reshoot
The previous shoot for the Post It ads was fine but, i was advised to remove the small items accompanying the message. The reason is because, the post its are supposed to relay the message clearly. The small items that serves as an add-on will only send a message to the audience that the post its does not do its job clearly enough that it needs something to assist it. So yeah.. Second shoot.
